This tool is designed to assist in the planning and design stages of rainwater harvesting systems in Mexico. Its goal is to support the technical analysis and basic calculations of these systems. To start, select a location on the map. You can search by locality name or by latitude and longitude. Enter the characteristics of your system and the tool will perform calculations for the selected system. Remember that the tool's calculations make assumptions about the type of storage, working days, runoff loss coefficients, and first flush and usage factors. The calculations take into account average precipitation, so you may find significant differences between what is modeled in the tool and what is observed in your building during extremely rainy or dry years. If you need more information on this, please go to the 'Help' or 'Assumptions' menu.
The following section summarizes the main results of the selected design. In each graph, you can zoom in on the values by drawing a box over the graph. You can also return to the original view by double-clicking on the graph. If needed, you can turn information layers on or off by clicking on the legend of each graph or download them using the small menu that appears in the top right corner of each graph.
